DMX forum will move / DM6 is coming

Dear DMX aficionados,

in the course of February 2026 this forum will move to the new location https://forum.dmx.berlin. All postings and user accounts will be transferred. The old URL (https://forum.dmx.systems) will no longer work then.

Background: in the past this forum was run by DMX Systems UG company. The company closed down end of 2025. From now on the forum will be operated by myself as a private person, that is Jörg Richter, former CTO of the DMX company. I’m still the owner of all DMX software and will continue development.

Even if forum activity has been very low recently, I’d like to keep contact with you. I’m about to do 2 postings here soon regarding ongoing DMX development activities. My hope is that this will give the DMX community a new boost of energy.

  1. “Linqa” (DMX-based whiteboard application)

    Linqa is a multilingual whiteboard for international collaboration. Working group members place content objects on a whiteboard and discuss them. All created content/comments are translated automatically and are displayed side by side. Initially Linqa has been developed with public money, and is Open Source software.

    In the next days Linqa 2.2 will be released with a new UI design and extended mobile support. The release announcement, along with information resources and the opportunity to try it out will be posted here very soon (February).

  2. “DM6 Elm” (a complete DMX rewrite, working title)

    DM6 Elm incorporates the lessons learned from 8 years DM5. Complexity is drastically reduced. The UI is explicitly designed for the needs of neurodivergent people. So it will be very clean and calm for everyone. :grinning: DM6 Elm is a local-first application that works offline and keeps your data on your device. Syncing and collaboration will still be supported.

    DM6 Elm 0.4 will be released soon (March/April). The release announcement, along with the opportunity to try it out will be posted here then.
